New Land, New Beginning

A massive 4000 square mile island has mysteriously appeared in the middle of the North Sea. Reports on the event variate from a blinding flash on the horizon to a sea monster duel. So far, countries are only guessing at the origins of this massive island's appearance. As an after effect of the event, tidal waves have barraged the European Coast, Great Britain and even parts of Iceland. The damage has dealt billions of dollars in damage to the affected countries. However, the floods where not as intense as would be expected from sure a mass or new land. The United States and many countries are sending aid to the devastates coastlines. Experts have been sent to investigate the island's origins. As of now, the best explanation is the hand of God.

As many try to recover from the shock or this phenomenon, some nations are turning their attention to the potential of this island. Concerns have been expressed about the ownership of the island. Frans Derzit, a British scientist, states "The European supper powers will fight over possession of this new land. If we do not reach an agreement, rebellion may break out!". Most, however, agree that the present problem should be addressed first.
